Statement of Faith

We believe in:

 

The unity and trinity of God; one God eternally existent in three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  (Matthew 3:16,17; 28:19; 2 Corinthians 14:14; 1 John 5:7). 

 

The Divine inspiration and infallibility of the Scriptures as originally given, and their authority in all matters of faith and conduct.  (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; John 10:35). 

 

The universal sinfulness and consequent guilt of the human race whereby all mankind is subject to the just judgment of God. (Romans 3:23; 6:23; Psalm 9:8; 98:9; Acts 17:31). 

 

The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; His incarnation through the Virgin Birth; His sinless life; His miracles; His substitutionary death and bodily resurrection that effected full salvation for all mankind; and His ascension to the right hand of the Father in Heaven. (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 2:26-35).

 

Justification by grace through repentance and personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  ( Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 2:11-14).

 

New Birth—Regeneration, the inward evidence of which is the witness of the Spirit, and the outward evidence of which is a life of righteousness and holiness. (John 4:3-8; 1 John 2:29; 3:9,10; 4:7; 5:1-5, 18). 

 

The Person of the Holy Spirit, Whose work of conviction, regeneration, sanctification, and anointing with power results in the reproducing of Christ in the believer and is manifested by holiness of life, complete love of God, and a deep concern for the spiritual and temporal welfare of others. (John 17:7-15; 15:26,27; Romans 8:14-17; Galatians 5:16-18,22,23).   

 

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit, as a definite work of the Spirit, distinct from and additional to His regenerating work: an enduement of power for life and service.  (Acts 1:8; 2:1-4, 16-18, 38,39; 8:15-17; 10:44-46; 15:7-9; 19:6; Joel 2:28-32).

 

The exercise of the ministry gifts of the Lord Jesus Christ and the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the worship and ministry of the Church.  (1 Corinthians 12-14)

 

The Ordinances of the Church: Water Baptism for believers, symbolizing the believer’s union in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the Lord’s Supper, Communion, commemorating the sacrifice of our Savior for all mankind. (Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 22:7-22;  Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28; 2 Corinthians 13:5; 1 Peter 3:21,22).

 

The Divine healing of the sick, through the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross, according to the will of God.  (Exodus 15:26; Matthew 8:16,17; James 5:14,15).

 

The Divinely ordained institution of marriage as a union between a man and a woman and as the basis of the family unit. (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:18, 21-25; Matthew 9:4-6; Ephesians 5:31-33; Hebrews 13:4). 

 

The personal future return of the Lord Jesus Christ to this earth in power and glory to rule over the nations; the gathering of the Body, the Church, to Him; the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; and the final judgment determining the everlasting punishment of the wicked and the eternal blessedness of the righteous.  ( Zechariah 14:4; Matthew 24:36-44; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, 2:8; Titus 2:12,13; Revelation 1:17; Matthew 28:1-7; Romans 6:1-10; 1 Corinthians 15:20-22; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18; Mathew 13:41-43; Mark 9:43, 44;  Revelation 14:10,11; 20: 10-15; 21:7,8; John 14:2; 1 Corinthians 2:9; 3:10-15; Revelation 7:15-17; 21:4;22;5).
